Sibilings Without Rivalry – Book Review
I wish I had read this book before I gave birth to my second but better late than never, I finally finished this book few days ago Allhamdullilah
Each chapter is amazingly helpful and I really loved the chapter where authors recommend treating children uniquely rather than equally. (i.e., Instead of saying, “I love you the same as your sister,” say, “You are the only ‘you’ in the whole wide world. No one could ever take your place.”)
“To be loved equally is somehow to be loved less. To be loved uniquely – for one’s own special self – is to be loved as much as we need to be loved.”
This reminded me the way that our prophet muhammad deal with everyone in an excellent manner, whoever he met, he would be very welcoming and cheerful, such that the person would think that he was the most beloved of all to him.
I think I will have to keep revisiting this book to implements all the techniques 😁
