How to Talk to Your Muslim Child About Sex – Book Review
Child sexual abuse cases are rising here in Sri Lanka each incident more shocking than the other, so this has left me baffled and scared.
As parents, we need to be vigilant about protecting our children from sexual abuse and provide loving guidance to keep them safe and healthy, research shows that talking to children about sex and personal boundaries at an early age can protect them from child sexual abuse, and later on, unsafe sexual practices. So I was looking for Islamic resources to talk about sex in an age appropriate way to my children.
I was super happy when sister Firazo Osman contacted me to gift this book because I had heard a lot of good reviews about it and wanted to add it to my parenting bookshelf.
I believe there is no shame or immodesty with seeking information about sexual health, as Muslim parents it is our responsibility to provide our children with Islamically based comprehensive sex education before stranger provide them wrong information about this highly sensitive topic.
I am sure this book will immensely help you, If you are looking for a book to tackle the subject of sex education in an Islamic Perspective. The Author also has listed out many other useful resources at the end of the book.
